Doug Burr For City Council
THANK YOU for your support!
We didn't win, but it was still worth the effort.  I'll continue working for the future of San Ramon.

Doug

I'm running for San Ramon City Council to serve the residents of this great city we live in.  Key issues I believe in are:

Support Education
  • I am the only candidate with children in elementary school and have a common interest with many other families in San Ramon.
  • Great schools benefit our youngest citizens and also drive higher property values. City government should work as a partner with our  schools.
Keep Tassajara Valley Undeveloped
  • The City is moving to annex the Tassajara Valley and bypass the voter approved Urban Growth Boundary.
  • Badly planned development will burden our already overcrowded schools, and increase traffic through San Ramon.
  • Substantially increasing the supply of houses will reduce the value of existing homes.
Responsive and efficient government
  • No new taxes or fees, we should spend our money more efficiently
  • Full transparency: We need to publish all contracts prior to the City signing them, residents should have access to every expenditure the city makes, to the penny (except for healthcare details and expenses on children).
Traffic Safety in front of schools and parks.
    • The Traffic Department needs direction from The City Council to prioritize children and resident's safety.  Monarch Dr is one example of the broken process. Over the objection of residents,  The City Council raised the speed limit from 25 to 40 mph. It's a two lane road with a blind curve, going up hill with homes on one side and two parks on the other side. I am very concerned a child will be hurt on Monarch, as well as other other roads near schools and parks.
If you agree, please vote for me in November.
